Discipleship
is all about learning to imitate Jesus. We study the Bible so that we
can learn the principles that guided Jesus' life and let them direct us.
Get connected in a discipleship group by
visiting the “Get Connected” counter in the Welcome Center following any
service.

Spiritual Life Development
Process |
|
We are a purpose-driven church. Three
times each year, classes are taught to help participants
incorporate God's purposes in their lives. Each class concludes with an
opportunity to make a commitment to take steps that lead to spiritual
growth. Everyone in the Calvary Community family is encouraged to
complete all four classes.
|
Class 1:
Purposes of Calvary
Topics covered
include how to become a Christian, Calvary’s five purposes, our
beliefs, and our church structure. Participants have the
opportunity to become a member of Calvary after completing this
class.
|
Class 2:
Developing Spiritual Maturity
Topics include how to pray, how to study the
Bible and an introduction to Biblical financial principles.
Participants have the opportunity to commit to incorporating
these principles in their lives. |
|
Class 3:
Discovering Your
Spiritual Gifts
Spiritual gifts are explored in this
study. Participants have the opportunity to complete a
spiritual gifts assessment and examine opportunities to serve
within the church. |
Class 4: Becoming
a Contagious Christian
Participants learn how to help their friends and
family understand what it means to be a Christ follower, as well
as how to encourage them to make the decision to follow Him.

Purposes of Discipleship
Groups |
|
Discipleship
The goal of discipleship is becoming
fully-devoted to Jesus. This is accomplished through Bible
study, memorizing scripture, serving, discussion and prayer. |
|
Worship
The goal of worship is to bring joy to God. We praise and
magnify God by focusing on His nature, actions and words. This
can be accomplished by praying, singing, and reading passages
from the Bible and other books. |
|
Evangelism
The goal of evangelism is to help people know God and become
more like Jesus. We reach out with the good news of Christ’s
love by praying for and investing in relationships with
non-Christian friends. |
|
Fellowship
The goal of fellowship is to build community
among group members and to encourage them toward wholeness.
This is accomplished by spending time with one another
through prayer, Bible study, support, and just having fun
with each other. |
|
Ministry
The goal of ministry is to help us discover and use our
spiritual gifts to serve the church and community. |
